The Miss Kerala is the celebration of women. The pageant symbolizes the transformation of Kerala women from conservative mindset to a progressive and achievement oriented attitude. For centuries the women of Kerala have been hardworking housewifes in dark, smoky kitchens. This pageant personifies the newly discovered freedom of expression and talent for women of the state of Kerala. Since 1999 onwards, Miss Kerala has been the glamour event Kerala looks forward to. In 2002 Miss Kerala contest has stepped into UAE with the first Miss Kerala contest held in Dubai. The 2003 version of the pageant was a grand spectacle to watch.

The last ten  years witnessed the colourful personalities seated in the prestigious judging seats, to name a few Actress Shalini, Miss India 1971 Lynette Williams, Model and actress Swetha Menon, Mega Star Suresh Gopi, South Indian singing sensation Unni Menon, MTV India Chief Alex Kuruvilla, International Groomer Sabira Merchant, Movie and theatre personality Dalip Tahil, V J & Model Kelly Dorji, Fashion Designer Sangeeta Desai, Media Personalities Anish Trivedi, Dolly Thakore, Film Personality Shogun Mohan, Tamil Mega Star Prasanth, famous Malayalam Movie personality Mukesh, Actress Mamta, have all been an integral part of the event which has conquered many a hearts.

The tenth year of Miss Kerala 2009 saw the following judges Mr.Priyadarshan the eminent movie director of Malayalam Movie Industry and Bollywood . Usha Uthup , also known as didi , A popular , vibrant and innovative  Indian pop singer. Ms.Pallavi Krishna, the famous Mohiniyattam performers and a trendsetter for many young dancers. Ms. Kainaat Arora, is a model who has walked the ramp for renowned designers like Manish Malhotra, Satya Pal, Nita Lulla, Siyarams and the like. She has recently acted in a comedy movie ‘Gupchup Gupchup’ with Om Puri which is due for release prior Diwali. Mr. N Rajeev, Managing Director of Aqua Water Systems, Italy. He heads the Indian subcontinent and middle-east operations of M/S Aqua S.P.A-Italy, world leaders in water- treatment, pools and leisure. An upcoming South Indian film actor Bala who mainly concentrates in Malayalam and Tamil films. He has acted in several successful Tamil movies, later entered Malayalam film industry. His major hit was Big B.Another promising actor Narain who started his career as an actor with Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s moview Nizhal Kuthu and his commercial hit was Classmates and Achuvinte Amma.
